Reportedly the Joint Admission Board has near unanimously agreed the new compromise formula proposed by

 

HRD Minister Kapil Sibal,where in percentile will replace the weightage for 12th board scores.According to the new formula, out of the top 20 percentile students in 12th board, scores in JEE Main examination will be used to select 50,000 students who will appear for JEE advanced examination, and scores in JEE advanced examination will be solely used for shortlisting for admission into various IITs.
